The Village of Briarcliff
...is nestled in the hills above the south shore of Lake Travis, 30 miles west of Austin. The community is comprised of beautiful homes on large, wooded lots, many with lake access. In addition to the stunning views of the lake and the surrounding Texas Hill Country, Briarcliff is a lakeside recreation paradise with skiing, sailing, and fishing on sunny Lake Travis.
Recreation:
The 18-hole Pedernales Country Club golf course offers a challenge for any golfer. The Briarcliff Marina is conveniently located to serve all of your boating needs.
Community Amenities:
The Briarcliff Property Owners Association (BPOA) maintains and provides a community center, tennis courts, and a central park with playgrounds, basketball courts, a pavilion, and a picnic areas for Briarcliff residents.
Scenic Pace Bend State Park, five miles north of Briarcliff, has wooded campsites, a day use area with covered picnic tables, hiking trails, and several boat launch ramps. With more than nine miles of shoreline along scenic Lake Travis, Pace Bend Park is one of the most popular areas in the Highland Lakes region, offering visitors a wide range of recreational opportunities. The west side of the park features high, limestone cliffs and numerous rocky coves with some of the most impressive views available of Lake Travis, especially at sunset.
Village Government
Briarcliff is governed by two governing bodies: The Briarcliff Property Owners Association (BPOA) and the Village of Briarcliff. The Briarcliff Property Owners Association has a nine member Board of Directors. Each board member serves three years with three new board members elected each year. The Village of Briarcliff is governed by a Mayor and Council of 5 Aldermen.
The Village of Briarcliff operates a municipal water system (treatment and distribution facilities) with intake pumps drawing from Lake Travis. Most homes have privately owned septic systems, except for a small municipal system servicing part of Cat Hollow Club and Perry's White Cliff.
Utilities and Schools
Electricity is provided by Pedernales Electric Cooperative with cable television service from Time Warner Cable. Fire and medical services are provided by the Pedernales Volunteer Emergency Services. Postal service is provided by Spicewood Post Office (zip code 78669). The Lake Travis Independent School District (with bus service) serves the Briarcliff area.
